Description
Snowy owls visit New England every few years when their food supply becomes limited. This cause them to fly from the Arctic tundra for a thousand miles. The Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) is a large owl of the typical owl family Strigidae. The bird is also known in North America as the Arctic Owl, Great White Owl or Harfang.

V. Excellant composition with pleasing color tones. How nice to see the morning moon. I just posted one of the moon in the afternoon. I love the soft detail in the owl's heatures that contrast with the sharpness in the gold eye.

I'd have to be very lucky to come upon such a fine composition -- the bird, the light, the moon, the snow covered branches -- but I know that you get these shots through hard work. Bravo!

I always have to be lucky also, I usually meet with a photographer in the area who knows his/her area. and they point me in the right direction.
